My Travel to Pilkington Point and Ice Rock Poonagala


As part of my new year's resolution 2020, traveling to a destination that I have never been was the best thing I did. Usually, I planned to travel only for one day every month but this time it took 2 days. On 11th January 2020 (Saturday), I got up at 4 am because I was planned to leave the house at 5 am and Ishika malli will be there with my car. As planned he came sharp at 5 am in the morning with one of his friends and the base drummer from the band live sakura Anu malli. So we left the house around 5.15 am. 

After passing the Wellawaya town and Ravana falls we came to Ella town. I was managed to capture a photo of the Ravana falls from the car.

We had our breakfast (string hoppers and milk) at Haliela town. On our way to Nuwara Eliya, we stopped near a local waterfall to get some air, refresh and to puff a cigarette.

After dropping our good friend Anu from his home town Etampitiya, Ishika and I came to the Nuwara Eliya city.

 About Lake Gregory (Sinhala: ග්‍රෙගරි වැව), sometimes also called Gregory Lake or Gregory Reservoir, is a reservoir in heart of the tea country hill city, Nuwara Eliya, Sri Lanka. Lake Gregory was constructed during the period of British Governor Sir William Gregory in 1873.[2] The lake and the surrounding area make up the Gregory Lake Area

We left Nuwara Eliya and drove straight back to Ishika malli's father's bungalow at Makaldeniya. The road to the bungalow was narrow and gravel. it was quite hard to travel in my car. we had to be more careful when passing some huge mud pits. even though the road is very difficult the view was spectacular. We stopped halfway for a cigarette and did not forget to sing a song.

Finally, after our long journey, we came to the bungalow. This was built around the year 1880. Originally this was a hospital. It looks a little bit creepy in the night but the view, the fresh air & the freedom you will get will forget everything. 👀

Appo made some meals for us and we did enjoy a lot that night.The tiredness of the day was gone 😉

The next day, the sun was up, I got up around 8 am and Appo bought some Kola Kenda from his home. The morning was very energetic and beautiful.

Apple Keynote 2014  The next Apple Keynote will be held today 09th September 2014. The event will start at 10.30 Pm in Sri Lanka time.
